The Astra range comprises five models – S, Exclusiv, SRi, SE and Elite – each of which comes with high levels of equipment as standard.
With prices from £13,995 for the comprehensively equipped 1.4-litre, 87PS Expression model and extend to £24,215 for the luxurious 2.0CDTi 160PS Elite automatic, Vauxhall has created a vehicle with specification, technology and innovation normally found in the class above.
New Astra is built at Ellesmere Port, where the manufacturer’s compact cars have been produced since it opened 46 years ago, supplying Europe whilst the lionshare will be for Britain. New Astra expects to follow on the wheels of its outgoing sibling which has been the nation’s best-selling UK-built car.
With a range of eight engines and five trim levels, the new Astra will initially be available as a five-door hatchback only, it is expected to appeal to a wide audience including the fleet sector.
